Rocket Crew news: versions 0.30 to 0.39

What each version of the game brought, the newest first.

Version 0.39.0: Several researches at once

  • The laboratory can run up to 3 researches at a time: 2 from level 3 and 3 at level 5.
  • Each new research takes twice the workers of the one before: 1, 2 and 4. The bigger your crew, the more you research.
  • A finished research keeps its place until you look at what it found.

Version 0.38.2: The ranking, up to date

  • When you rename your rocket, change your profile icon or the trophies your commander shows, the ranking shows it at once instead of up to half a minute later.

Version 0.38.1: "Play free" always in sight

  • On a phone, in the guides, the community, the ranking and the news, the "Play free" button is now at the right of the top bar instead of hiding at the end of the sections. Without a session that bar no longer shows the sound button.
  • When you name your rocket for the first time, the name comes first and your commander’s sheet below it, so you can type it without scrolling.

Version 0.38.0: Halloween at the base

  • From 24 October to 2 November every base on Earth dresses up for Halloween on its own: pumpkins with carved faces that glow at night, and the workers in witches’ hats.
  • The workers have something to say about it, too.

Version 0.37.6: Visitors need fewer visits

  • The visitors’ stands (and the dome on the Moon) ask for far fewer visits: 3 to build them, then 10, 25, 60 and 125 for each level (it was 10, 25, 60, 150 and 400).

Version 0.37.5: Tap the ground for the overview

  • Tapping anywhere on your base that is not a building or an element works like "Overview": it lets go of what you picked and folds the upgrades panel away, to see the whole base.

Version 0.37.4: More base in sight on large screens

  • On large screens the upgrades panel is wider and shows the eight buildings of the base in one row: it is lower, and your base is seen taller.

Version 0.37.3: Painting on the phone

  • On the phone, choosing a colour takes the whole sheet: it says what you are painting, shows every zone with its colour and all your colours in one line, and leaves your base in sight. "Done" takes you back.

Version 0.37.2: The right tab on desktop

  • On a computer, tapping something on your base also opens its tab in the upgrades panel: Rocket, Base or Extras.

Version 0.37.1: A tidier home page

  • On the home page, the service tower grows beside the rocket from the start, the lift appears once the tower is complete, and no worker floats in the air beside it.

Version 0.37.0: The lift, outside the tower

  • The lift of the service tower now runs up its outer face and waits on the ground, beside the pad, on every planet.
  • The lift has its own colour: paint it from the tower, like the structure and the stripes.
  • Workers on a job wear a welding mask and hold the torch while the sparks fly.

Version 0.36.3: Conquer space

  • The game now says "rally your crew and conquer space": on the home page, in search engines and in the pictures of the links.

Version 0.36.2: Skip the tutorial

  • The first guide has a "Skip tutorial" button: tap it twice and the guide closes for good, along with every finger and hint of the first steps.

Version 0.36.1: The daily window closes on phones

  • On phones, the guide now scrolls to what it points at: the close button of the daily reward is shown, and the window no longer stays open covering the next steps.

Version 0.36.0: Your first prototype

  • A new guide from start to finish: you build a small prototype rocket, part by part, and while each part is built it shows you the rest of the game. Nothing else points at anything meanwhile, and each step is passed by doing it.
  • New players start with 30 coins, just what the engine costs; verifying the email gives 10, and the third part assembled brings a welcome gift of 45.

Version 0.35.1: A guide you follow by playing

  • In the first guide, the steps that ask you to do something (pay for the engine, pick your colour, collect…) can no longer be passed with "Next": they pass when you do them.

Version 0.35.0: Your signs, your colours

  • The name sign and the visit counter are white with black letters, and you can paint their background and their letters with the colours of your collection: tap one of them. No tree stands in front of them any more.

Version 0.34.1: Signs by the stands

  • The sign with the name of the rocket and the visit counter now stand on each side of the visitors’ stands, and the name sign is there from the start, whatever the level.

Version 0.34.0: Visits count

  • The ranking can now be ordered by the most visited bases, not only by level: sharing your link counts as much as building.
  • Every base has a visit counter at its entrance, like the ones of old web pages, with all the visits it has received.

Version 0.33.1: One bar on the computer

  • On wide screens the sections of the game share the top bar, and the page of a base no longer shows two buttons to go to your rocket.

Version 0.33.0: Easier to find your way

  • The public pages have a menu with the four sections of the game: How to play, Community, Ranking and News, and the button to play.
  • The guides, the community and the news link to each other: an idea of the community that is done says which version brought it.

Version 0.32.1: Tidier for search engines

  • Search engines now find the bases of the players through the ranking, and focus on the pages of the game and the community.

Version 0.32.0: The community, inside the game

  • The Activity tab now has two parts: "My base", as always, and "Community", with the most voted ideas and bugs to vote for them or propose yours without leaving your base.

Version 0.31.1: Behind the scenes

  • An adjustment to how new versions of the game are published, after the project changed its name.

Version 0.31.0: The community opens

  • The board of ideas and bugs is now the community of the game, a public page anyone can read, even without playing.
  • Each idea and each bug has its own page, with a link to share it, and you can reply to them: the team answers there too.
  • When somebody replies to what you wrote, you get a notice in the game and on your phone that takes you to it.

Version 0.30.2: The base looks as before

  • The new lighting of the base is undone: it looks again as it did in version 0.30.0.

Version 0.30.0: Your profile, with more of you

  • A base now shows its total visits and the different days its player has been in the game, on its public page and on your profile. Your profile also shows your streak of days in a row, since when you are commander and how much of the collection you have.
