🔐 Account and security in Rocket Crew: email, password and Google

Each account has an email, a username and a way to sign in, and it has a single rocket. This guide gathers everything you can do with it. The details about data are in the privacy policy of the game.

Creating the account and signing in

  • You can sign up with an email and password (at least 8 characters) or with Continue with Google, which is the shortest way: the account is born verified.
  • The username is unique and is the public address of your base (rocketcrew.gg/your-username). It is chosen when you create the account and does not change. The rocket name can be changed.
  • We never store your password in plain text, only a hash. If you get the email or password wrong, the message is the same in both cases, so as not to reveal which emails have an account.
  • You can also try the game with “Try without an account”, which opens a practice base in that tab and saves nothing.

Verifying your email

  • When you create the account you get an email with a link. The link works once and expires after 7 days.
  • Verifying gives 50 coins, only once. If someone invited you, it also makes you appear as their worker.
  • Without verifying you can play normally, but you cannot send friend requests.
  • If you still have not verified after 24 hours, you get a single reminder with a new link.
  • If you made a typo in your email, the form suggests the fix (“Did you mean…?”) and you can change it later from your account.

If you forget your password

  • On the sign-in screen press Forgot your password? and type your email. The answer is always the same, whether you have an account or not.
  • The link works once and expires after an hour. Asking for another cancels the previous ones.
  • When you save the new password, all sessions on all devices are closed, and you get a notice by email.
  • If you signed up with Google and have no password, this is also the way to create the first one.

Changing your email

From Account you type the new email and enter your password again. A link is sent to the new email and a notice to the current one; the change only happens when you open the link, which expires after 24 hours. If your account is a Google one, you first have to create a password.

Limits and security

  • The verification, recovery and change emails have limits per hour and per day. If you go over, the game tells you too many have been requested: wait a while.
  • If an email bounces (the address does not exist) or you mark it as spam, that address gets no more emails and you will see a notice to change it.
  • Attempts to sign in with a wrong password are limited too.

💡 If something does not reach you, check the spam folder and make sure the email of your account is spelt right. More about your data in the privacy policy.
