🌕 How to reach the Moon in Rocket Crew

Every base starts on Earth, the first stop of a route between planets. The first destination is the Moon, and getting there is the goal of the game as it stands today.

What you need

The rocket at its top level: 25, which means its 5 parts at level 5. But that is not enough: to fly you also need the whole base at its top level, every building and every extra. When it is all there, the route lets you program the take-off.

What that asks of your base

  • The launch pad at level 4, so that the rocket can reach level 25.
  • The fuel building at level 5, for the engine and the tank.
  • The tower at level 5, for the fuselage and the cockpit.
  • The hangar at level 5, for the fins.

On Earth, the parts alone cost 3,875 coins, and those buildings another 3,460. The last levels are the long ones: each takes three times as long as the one before, so the control center and good workers make a real difference at the end. See the rocket and the base.

How the trip works

  • You pick the day and the hour of the take-off, at least a day from now. Preparing it costs 5,000 coins, and once it is chosen it cannot be changed or cancelled.
  • Up to 3 workers go with the rocket, wearing space suits. Before the take-off you see them climb the tower and board.
  • Everyone who visits your base counts down with you and sees the take-off. The animation is only seen live: it cannot be watched again.
  • The journey lasts one day, told in four still scenes. You can follow it from the route, or go back to your base on Earth, with the pad empty to build a new rocket.
  • When it lands, the 3 workers stay on the Moon and start a base from scratch, with nothing built (no pad, no buildings, and the rocket with no parts), with the same coins you have on Earth. Your levels add up: the Earth gives you 25, and the Moon takes you from 26 to 50.
  • Everything costs 150% more on the Moon: the parts of the rocket and the buildings cost 2.5 times what they do on Earth, the works last 1.5 times as long, a worker standing on the Moon produces 2 times as many coins, and 40 % of the price is paid in helium-3, the second currency of the game. You make it at the helium-3 extractor, which takes the place of the Earth's oil well: it gives 2 times as much as the well, but in helium instead of coins. The exceptions are the pad and the extractor, which are paid in coins only: the pad is the first thing to build, it is free, and until it is done nothing else can be built and no part can be fitted.
  • Visitors see your base on the last planet you have reached, and your route marks it.

And after the Moon?

The route only ever shows your next destination. Beyond it there is a stop marked with a “?”: you can see that something is there, not what. It is not open yet.

💡 The fastest way to the Moon is a crew: each worker is one more upgrade under way at the same time, and their coins arrive every day. See workers and invitations.
